Thank You Lord For Your Blessings on Me

As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I'm rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Now I know I'm not wealthy, and these clothes , they're not new
I don't have much money, but Lord I have you
And to me that's all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

The children at church sang this song on Sunday. It was a reminder I needed to be thankful. And how I needed it.

On Friday, we had to go and try and fix the air conditioner at our old house that we are renting. My poor husband tried so hard, he worked and worked on it, but could not get it fixed. We had to go and buy a window unit, so the family that is staying there, wouldn't be so hot. So we spent some money we did not have.

Since we were already in NC we spent the night with my friend Barb and her family. We stayed up late, having a good time visiting. But, the poor baby only got 6 hours of sleep. He's used to 8 hours! He doesn't sleep well without his crib. But, he was surprisingly well behaved to have gotten so little sleep.

Barb's daughter had her Sweet Sixteen party on Saturday. It was really nice! We had a wonderful time.

I was wondering if our van would make it up there to work on the a/c , but it did. But, on the way home, it started raining, and the van hates rain! It kept chugging, like it would cut off at any time, and I kept praying we would make it home, and we did.

When we went in the house we discovered the power had been off, apparently all day. It was quite hot in here! The power company had the power back on in about an hour, but it took till about 1 am before it got cool in here.

Then on Sunday, we had a great time at preaching. Our little one has been quite loud during Sunday School. He won't go to the nursery without me! So we have always took him with us.

So, we were trying to decide if we should just sit in the nursery with him, or go to Sunday School. Our teacher overheard us debating, and said, not to worry, bring him with us. So we did. Everyone said they don't mind him crawling all over, and babbling (quite loudly). So that is a blessing! We didn't want to disrupt everyone else's lesson.

We got our stimulus check, so after church, we went and bought a very old, but new-to-us van! It's older than our other van, but seems to run a whole lot better. No more chugging along, hopefully!

Our church is remodeling, so when we went for Sunday night service, instead of a service, we ate and worked. Someone said let's get started moving out the old pews, because we have someone coming to do the floors soon.

So the men moved out all the old pews, and pulled up the carpet. They started about 7 and finished about 10. It was a lot of hard work, well, not for me, but for them! My hubby tore his fingernails up, and cut his hands all up. Poor baby! But, he was so happy to be doing something for the church.

We have already painted, now we are getting our hardwood floors done, and then we will move our new pews in. We'll have a brand new church!

Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really like the words to this song. It is always good to remember to count our blessings. A few years back I read a trick to keep from becoming frustrated while waiting in a long line - count your blessings! It really does work. It is hard to get angry when you are purposefully thinking about all of the ways God has blessed you.
