Trunk or Treat

Last night we had Trunk or Treat at our church. Now, I know what you're thinking, why wasn't it on Halloween? Well the town we live in is a die-hard football town. So, if we would have had it on Halloween, no one would have showed up. Everyone down here will be at the football game on Friday. Which is actually good for the kids, cause some of them can trick-or-treat twice!

First we had a hot dog supper with lots of cupcakes and brownies. Cause you know the kids needed more sugar! That's my oldest on the left with his best church buddy.

Then the kids played games for prizes and candy. I didn't think the little one would do this because he's so young. But, his cousin took him and helped him play all the games. She's dressed up like the Wendy's hamburger girl. The little bumble bee is looking at his prizes, like he can't believe he won them.

Then after that we went outside for some trunk or treating. In our case there were actually a lot of trucks, so it was more like truck or treating! There was a really scary guy with a mask that kept scaring my little one, and a couple more of the small ones. But, I didn't get a picture of him.

Captain Rex here loves the creek, so he just had to go and get his costume dirty by looking for crayfish.

And don't let this scare you away, but this is me. I live to dress up! The kids kept asking me, are those your clothes from when you were younger? They only made me feel a lot little old when they said that. I tried to tell them I wasn't quite that old, but they didn't believe me.

Peace!

Our church does Trunk or Treat too! The one we were members of in Texas had a carnival. The kids loved it when they were little.

BTW - I love your costume! I dressed similarly for my son's cub scout party years ago.

Oh, I love these kinds of things to go to. My children are all grown now and how much I miss the Halloween fun we used to have. I carved two pumpkins this week....by myself. Enjoy these precious days you have with your young ones. I just love your outfit. Made me smile! blessings, Kathleen
