Lunch From the Garden

Today while my son and I were outside, we decided to pick our lunch from the garden. The lettuce was looking really full, so we cut some out. It's supposed to grow more once you cut it, but since it's getting warmer, I don't know if it will or not.

My salad was really great! It's the first thing we have got out of the garden this year, so I think that makes it even better! My son loved it too! If only my little one would eat something like this. Have y'all got anything from your garden yet?

That looks really good. Now you mention your youngest not eating it. Did he help plant it? I know this sometimes helps kids, if they feel they made something they love it.

Your salad look just beautiful! There's nothing better than home-grown is there?

Try getting you little guy planting some of his own veggies... I do it with my daycare kids, and they're so proud to eat something that they "made" themselves!
They'll even eat radishes, but only if they've grown it themselves...

Oh Nancy, it looks like a great salad. We don't have anything yet from our little garden.

That looks so good. We haven't planted much yet. Our tomatoes got hit by frost last week so we are having to replant. But hopefully it will do good once we get everything in. We can if the rain will hold off for a while. But I'm not complaining we need it!

Fresh lettuce from your garden a true treat! Lettuce is one crop that does well here in the Pacific Northwest and we harvest ours all summer long, on into the fall. But nope, nothing in our garden is ready for picking except the bugs and slugs.

Maybe your son will like lettuce next year!

Hi Nancy.
Your salad looks delicious.
I have lettuce ready, turnip and collards, radishes, asparagus, onions, garlic, carrots. I am thinking about cutting one of the red cabbages this weekend.
Thank goodness for the rain we had lately. It has everything growing so good.(weeds too)
Have a great day.

What I'd do to have a FRESH salad ? Yum. Yum, add a little chicken, olive oil, garlic , blue cheese ....

Now I am craving a salad !!

Enjoy that salad for me !
I really do like ya ;-)
