It's been really hot here lately and we have been trying to find ways to stay cooler. The boys love playing in their pool that you saw in the post below. I have been wanting to run the A/C less, but still stay cool. We had ceiling fans in our living room and game room, but not in any of the bedrooms. In those rooms we had the light fixtures below.
We finally had a little bit of money and decided to buy ceiling fans for all the bedrooms and the hallway. For some reason the hallway is pretty long, but doesn't even have a vent in it. I think that's kinda weird, so we put a fan up there too. I say we, but really it was my husband who did everything. All I did was hand him things. He did such an awesome job!
Since we installed these last weekend, I have been able to turn the air down by about 5 degrees. Ceiling fans are supposed to be cheaper to operate, so hopefully I'll be able to see a difference in my power bill .

We use our fans too, Nancy- especially at night. I've got to where I can't hardly sleep without our ceiling fan being on anymore!
Nancy, our fans have helped us tremendously with this latest heat wave. Stay cool and enjoy Father's Day weekend.
We love our ceiling fans here!
So hot here too-I guess summer has arrived!
Whew doggies, it is hot here too. I can't LIVE without my Hunter ceilings fans. The hubs installed them when we moved in this house and had to re-wire. They are still quiet after running for 9 years. I run them in the winter too. Just set them on reverse to circulate the heat.
We have ceiling fans in the living room, dining room and in our bedroom but we seldom run them....don't know why because it would cut down on the air usage.

So it has been a few days, how's the cooling down going? We rent a place that has a ceiling fan in all the bedrooms and living room. I love the cool air. Feels great, especially at night unless it's super humid which happens a lot here. Nice fans.
We have ceiling fans in every room - and they run nonstop all summer. Hope yours help in your house
