More New Chicks

I hope y'all had a great 4th of July weekend! We had a wonderful time at our friend's daughter's birthday party.

I believe I told you that we had another hen that was setting. Well, she had her chicks last weekend. She ended up having 6 that hatched.

They are really pretty. Two of them look almost white, but one of those has feathered feet. Two are a golden color and I think both of those have feathered feet. I guess our cochin rooster gets around, lol! One of the other ones is dark golden with stripes and the last one is brown with stripes. I think that one is part Easter Egger.

Hopefully all of these guys will make it, and I am hoping for all hens, lol! I still have too many roosters. The other two chicks are doing well and getting bigger, just not big enough to go in with the rest of the chickens yet. They are still small enough to slip through the wire and get out. Here's a picture of the older two chicks below.

Chicks are so cute, and if you get all hens you should buy a lottery ticket!

I have two batches of bantam chicks that have just hatched out, they are so teeny ....

The babies are so cute. My baby chicks have grown so fast its unbelievable, but mom has some more that have just hatched, so I will be getting more babies soon.

They are just so cute. :) I hope they survive too! How long does it take before you know if they're roosters or hens?

Nancy, I think the yellow one in the bottom picture is a rooster because it has a more prominent comb. Usually it takes several months for me to be sure, some folks can tell sooner.
