Update On The Benefit and Video

I want to thank everyone who has been praying for my family. Some of you wanted an update as to how the benefit for my nephew went. I'm not sure exactly how much was raised, but she said they raised quite a bit of money and hopefully a lot of awareness of inhalant abuse.

I also want to share a link to a story the local news did on Jason. It has Jason's mom Wendy, my husband's mom and little sister in it also. Wendy is really doing all she can to raise awareness so this won't happen to someone else. http://www.wsoctv.com/news/19441378/detail.html

I just watched the news cast, so sad. And such a waste of a young and precious life. I am sorry for your family's deep loss.

So sorry. We have talked to our kids about this a few years ago. There are MANY other things kids inhale too. Canned air, spray paint, etc. The key here is to TALK to your children about everything. My boys come to us often and ask about things they have heard or want to discuss. Make sure kids know you are not going to judge, but help guide them. Knowledge is important, as are boundaries. Every time my 12 year old goes to someone's house, I say, "You know our rules. No sex, drugs or alcohol." "Then I say, don't hesitate to call me if you are uncomfortable. I will come, no questions asked." Praying for your family.

Praying for you all. So sorry it came to this. I think it is great that they are talking about it and making more aware.

Maybe some good can come out of this. Kids need to know that this kills you.

Mom's and Dad's need to be aware that this goes on, and talk to their kids about it.

I think kids think they won't ever die. But they need to hear the truth.

I give your family a lot of credit for going out there and making people aware, I am sure it is very painful as well for them.

Blessings my friend-
Rachelle
