Bantams and Biddies
Y'all probably remember the pen my husband made for our bantams. Well, since I was letting the rest of the chickens free range again, I decided to let the bantys join the big chickens. They are really loving being free. That's the bantam roo in the picture above. He's an araucana and so gorgeous. My son named him Hot Shot. Here he is below with his cochin hens. They are so cute with their fluffiness and their feathered feet.
We also let the mama hen and her babies out. I'm sad to say that several of the biddies died. One of them was killed by evil fire ants, and the guineas ran one into the dog and she ended up killing it. So, these are the two that are left. I think one may be an araucana mix and the other one a light brahama mix. They still stay very close to their mama even though they are around 3 months old now.

Hiya Nancy how fun is that, I don't see chicken pens out here but in Enid I did ;0) Have a wonderful day thanks for visiing me today too, I love visits :0) I can't wait to see your snow this winter on your blog, I think it's amazing to see all the different designs people come up with. Take care, have a great day.

Those rotten fire ants. I have encountered them myself, very briefly. One fire ant bite is painful enough.
The fluffy bantams are hard to resist, aren't they?
Oh Nancy- they are so gorgeous!! I think I see a little black cochin hen in one of those pictures.. aren't they the sweetest things? She looks just like my little Queenie.
Your chickens are so sweet!! I just love them so much. Aren't they fun to watch?!
what a pretty roo!
Kris
