I'm taking part in Heidi's Magical Disney Sunday again. Today I would like to share some memories of Tom Sawyer's Island. You may find it hard to believe that I've been to Disney World about a dozen times and I had never been to Tom Sawyer's Island until our trip this spring.
The island is themed after the novel written by Mark Twain. It's really secluded, the only way to get there is by raft, just like Tom and Huck.
There are barrel bridges, waterwheels, and caves to explore. It's a boy's dream come true. That's my son Mitchell in the picture below pretending he's shooting, defending the fort.

I think it's possible this place could be little boy Heaven on Earth! It looks like there is lots of fun to be had, like Tom and Huck always had. The raft sounds like a treat too. I hope your day is full of magic and sunshine Nancy!
Hi Nancy!.. You know? I never really realized it yet, but having been to Disney World THREE times, I still never saw Tom Sawyer's Island! Your photos are wonderful, and it looks like your family definitely had fun there!!.. Love your Halloween decorations in your previous post! I'm sorry to be so late to seeing everybody's posts. I was VERY busy yesterday packing for THE MOVE that's ahead of us, and I went to bed exhausted, a little earlier than usual last night! So here I am with my morning cup of coffee! I have not been to Tom Sawyers Island either in all the times I have been to Disney. We really just discovered it the last time we were there, but my daughter whose day it was at Disney was more interested in the Princesses. LOL
Wow, that sounds amazing. We have nothing like that here so that would be really fun (as well as educational!!)
