Cleaning Our Vinyl Siding

My husband and I have been talking about cleaning our vinyl siding for, oh,  about a year now, lol!  We finally decided it was time to do something about it!  The north side of the house was the worst.  Unfortunately it's also the side everyone enters the house in when they visit.  So, it really needed to be done!

We have been living here for about 2 and 1/2 years and had never cleaned it!  I guess you can probably tell by the picture above.  Gross!

We put everyone to work.  My husband sprayed on a mixture of 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water with a little Awesome mixed in.  Then Mitchell would use the scrub brush to clean it off.

Then Hunter helped me wash it off with the water hose.  We all took turns on all the different jobs, so no one had to do one thing the whole time.

I am so glad we finally decided to wash it!  It looks brand new again!  To see more tackles visit 5 Minutes For Mom.

Oh lord, we have to do that every year. That's nice you have helpers. Your siding looks awesome until the next cleaning is needed:)

Looks wonderful. Our boxing, eves and one wall at the carport are vinyl and I do them every year with my long handle brush.
I only squirt Joy dish on my brush and go for it.
Better than painting!

Wow, that's cool! A whole family cleaning up the siding. I wish I could do that also in my house's vinyl siding in New York.

You're right Ellard! I wish I could get together with my family and do just that. But alas, I have just recently had a Calgary roofer do my roofs. Calgary roofers tend to work really fast probably because our weather demands it to be done quickly, or you're done for.

Hey, I need one of those long armed thingies to wash my house!!! My house looks the same (we have the same colored housed btw), and our front side is the N as well. However it's really high off the ground and I have been contemplating how in the world we would get it all done without climbing up on *high* ladders to do so. My search is over :-)

Blessings,

Kerri

BTW--we'll have to compare chicken names :-)

Owners of a residence have a lot of responsibilities and difficult tasks to do daily. Painting, caulking or staining the exterior on a regular basis is a must to maintain the exterior of the home and keep it in good physical shape.See more http://sidinginvancouver.com/siding-cost.html
