Where Does The Time Go?

Every time I think I'm going to be back to blogging on a regular basis, something happens.  First I had a couple reviews/giveaways I had to post about this week, so that took up some time.  Then, we had some company over a few times this week, so we had to take more time straightening up things.  Then, the other night our A/C quit working and we didn't realize it until almost lunch time.

We called a few places and mostly got answering machines.  One guy said they could come the next day, but it was 89 degrees in the house, and we were dying!  Even the dogs were hot!  Someone finally called us back that afternoon and came within 30 minutes.  We were so thankful!  And very lucky that it was a part they had on hand and that we could afford to fix it.  It was just under a hundred dollars.

It took until the next morning to get it cool again.  But, boy were we so thankful that it was cool again.  So, it was too hot to get online that day, so I didn't even think about getting on the laptop.

I won't promise I'll be back to blogging regularly until we get settled into more of a routine.  We're also getting ready to start homeschooling back, so that will take some getting used to.  But, I will be back!  I'm behind on reading blogs too, but I hope to get caught up by next week.  I still love y'all and appreciate you reading and I will be visiting soon!

Bark Off/Crazy Critter Giveaway

I recently received the Bark Off and Crazy Critter to review.  The Bark Off is an ultrasonic training aid that emits a high-pitched sound that only dogs can hear that is supposed to keep them from barking.   It is supposed to work up to around 20 feet.

I like that the Bark Off is small and can fit into my pocket.  It's also automatic, going off each time the dog barks, so there are no buttons to keep pushing.  It has a holder that you can hang on the wall and two distance settings.

I tried the Bark Off on my chihuahuas who are known for barking constantly.  Honestly, since I can't hear it, I'm not sure if it's working or not.  I haven't noticed any difference in their barking.  But, that could just be because chihuahuas are hard to train at anything.  Your dogs may be different.

The Crazy Critter is a stuffing free squeak toy for dogs.  The one we got was a fox.  These are especially great for dogs that love to chew on things.  If they end up tearing it open, there is no stuffing to make a mess with or hurt your dogs.

My dogs did like playing with the Crazy Critter.  My son would try and play tug of war with them or squeak it at them.  I think it's great for dogs who tear up their toys.

Would you like to try the Bark Off or Crazy Critter?  You can buy them for $10 each.

Total Pillow Giveaway

I love trying As Seen On TV products.  Especially when they work like the commercials say!  The Total Pillow is one of those products that works great!  It is fleece covered and filled with microbeads.  I love to squish those microbeads around.  It's good for stress relief, lol.

The Total Pillow is a pillow that can be used in many different ways, it can change into 5 different shapes just by twisting it.  I love how flexible it is, and yet, it still holds the shape I put it in.

I like using it while sitting in my recliner, it's just the perfect size for that.  I also like using it to hold my book while I am reading.  I bend it into a C shape and it holds the book for me, which is great for me because I have carpal tunnel and it relieves the pain from holding a book too long.

The Total Pillow would be great for traveling either in a car or plane.  It can be used behind the neck, back, or even between the knees while sleeping for better support.  For those that need support in an office chair this would be great twisted.

The Total Pillow sells for $19.99.  Right now you can buy 2 for that price if you just pay the extra P&H for the second pillow.

VBS Fun

With everything going on in with the move and all, we never made it to any of the daily VBS activities this summer.

However, our church has a Survivor Saturday where they spend the whole day and night at the church.  They told us all to come even though we hadn't been the other days.

They start out with water fights with buckets, balloons, and water guns.

Then they get out the redneck water slide which is a tarp with dish soap and water.

Adam is having lots of fun on the water slide.

At first all Hunter wanted to do was run on it, but once he got the hang of it, he didn't want to get off!

That's his little girlfriend with him on the slide.  She's older by just a few months.  They are so cute together!

Mitchell and Justin had a good time too.

Mitchell ending up spending the night at the church and had so much fun!

His New Love!

We don't have any trains in the town where we live, so Hunter was always super excited to visit NC and see the trains.  So we decided to take him to the park up there where they have a train to ride.

He was so excited!  I loved seeing his face light up when he realized he was going to ride the train.

He was so happy, but too scared to get his picture taken on the engine with Adam.

As soon as he got off he wanted to ride again.

Instead, we took the kids over to play on the playground.  Yep, he's almost always barefoot!

My wild youngin is not afraid of falling, he will climb anything!

Mitchell and Justin had a great time too.

Celebration!

Anyone guess what we're celebrating?

We saved a lot of our Fourth of July fireworks to celebrate getting Barb and her family moved in.

Wow!  Was that an effort!  First we reserved a 17 foot Uhaul and there was some sort of mix-up on their end, so they upgraded us to a 26 footer.  We packed and loaded and ended up filling that whole truck.

The only bad thing was there was more left over!  You never really know how much is in a house till you try and fill a truck with it.  The things that were left over that wouldn't fit, we went back and got with our truck and trailer a couple days later.

I didn't really help a lot on packing the truck because of my foot.  Some of y'all were worried about me and I appreciate it!  I did go and get a tetanus shot, just in case, but it is feeling much better now!

I was wishing for cooler temperatures for the move, but it ended up being in the upper 90's.  My husband just plowed right on and loaded and carried everything.  He's used to working outside in the heat, so it's easier for him.

If you would like to see what Alli's done with the bedroom my husband made for her, visit her blog.

Barb has unpacked most of her stuff now.  No more box mazes in the house, lol!  Now we just have to get used to each others ways.  Barb is more structured and all about lists and schedules.  I'm more a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kinda girl.  I've never met a list I liked, well, except a grocery list, lol.  Hopefully with a lot of patience and prayer we'll get along just fine!

Purely Products Pocket Purifier Review and Sunmate Giveaway

I recently received a Purely Products Pocket Purifier to review.  The Pocket Purifier is a handheld germ eliminating light that uses ultraviolet light to sanitize surfaces.  It kills up to 99.9% of germs that cause colds and flu and also things like  e-coli, salmonella, mold fungus, and MRSA, which is the staph infection.  Plus it does all this without the use of chemicals!  It comes in black or pink.

You never know where germs might be lurking on door handles, keyboards, phones, remote controls, and many other places.  The handheld Pocket Purifier is small enough to fit in your purse, diaper bag, or even your glove compartment.  To use, all you have to do is hold it over the item you want to sanitize for 10-15 seconds.  It even has a handy flashlight on it.

Although studies have been done that show UV light to be effective in killing germs, I have no way of knowing if it does or not since I'm not a scientist.

The Pocket Purifier sells for $29.95.  Purely Products is offering 25% off to my readers on their entire order excluding replacement bulbs.  The discount can be found here.

A percentage of every Purely Products sale supports diaperLove, a non-profit providing diapers to children in need. For more info, go to www.diaperLove.org.

I also was sent a Sunmate to try out.  It's a small device that measures the intensity of ultraviolet rays just by pushing a button.  It measures on a scale from 1 to 5.  1 is low danger and 5 is extreme risk.  It works even on cloudy days.

The Sunmate sells for $19.95.  Purely Products is giving away a Sunmate to one of my readers.

To enter leave a comment on this post telling me where you would use the Sunmate.
Follow my blog for another entry.
Follow me on twitter and tweet about this giveaway for another entry.
Blog about this giveaway for 3 extra entries.

Please leave a separate comment for each entry.  Giveaway is open to the US and Canada only.  Giveaway will close Sunday night July 25th at midnight.

I was sent a Pocket Purifier and Sunmate from Purely Products in association with MamaBzz in order to do a review.

MyCoupons.com Review

I am always searching for a good deal both in stores and online.  But, sometimes when I want to find coupons for online purchases I have a hard time finding them.  Recently I was introduced to a great site that has all the coupon codes I need in one place!  It's called MyCoupons.com.

My Coupons has printable  coupons, discounted gift cards, and online coupon codes all on one site!  They have local coupons and savings as well.

Since it will soon be time for the kids to go back to school, I took a look at their Back To School section.  Even a homeschool mom like me has things to buy for the school year.  The Back To School section is located under Popular Categories on the left hand column.

Here are just a few of the discounts I found in Back To School on My Coupons:

  • Borders- 20% off at Borders
  • Sears & KMart- $5 off $50 purchase
  • Finish Line- $10 off $60 purchase
  • Cengage Brain- Up to 15% off print textbooks

I like how people can rate the coupons and comment on them as well.  Now, every time I want to make a purchase online My Coupons will be my first stop for coupon codes!  You can follow My Coupons on Twitter and on Facebook.

This review is in association with Mama Bzz.  I will receive a gift card in exchange for posting my opinion.

New Additions

I know I'm behind on showing y'all what we've been doing to get ready for my friend and her family moving in.  But, I stepped on a nail the other day.  It went all the way through my shoe and pretty far into my foot.  OUCH!  It really hurt!  I thought it was feeling better this morning, but after walking on it awhile, it's not really any better.  Oh, well, maybe I won't have to tote boxes on moving day, lol!

We had an empty bedroom for Barb, but nothing for the kids.  We have a huge game room on the end of the house, so we decided to use half of it for rooms for Barb's children.  That way the kids still have room to play video games and whatever else they want in the other half.

First we had to build a wall for a room for Alli.  Since it's a small room, we decided to build her a loft bed.  That way she still has room underneath for sitting or studying.  Once again my hubby did most of the work.  Barb or I just handed him things here and there.

Her boys will be sharing a larger room beside of Alli's.  Since there are 2 of them we made their room bigger.

We had to do this with minimal money, so it's not the best it could be.  We hope to be able to get trimming for the walls and corners later.

We're moving them in this weekend.  Wish us luck, especially since I probably won't be able to help them much!
