Ahhh... you're making me all nostalgic! I remember doing the same thing in California, and can still see my kids standing there keeping an eye on things.They are both so adorable... one boy holding the soft toy, or the other one in his little cowboy boots!!

Cheryl, I've heard it's good to burn it off in the winter, I think it makes the soil more nutrient rich.

Ahhh, I miss this. We used to burn ours also. It is great for the soil. We didn't have time for a garden this year. Glad to pass along info to ya. My sister has been swarmed by the orange lady beetles before. I know, I know, it IS hilarious. We still kid her about it today!
