Book Review: Ten Great Adventurers

I am blessed to have a son who loves learning about history.  So I was glad to review Ten Great Adventurers by Kate Dickinson Sweetser, edited by Amy Puetz .  It's tells the story of ten men who lived exciting lives and were real heroes in history.

The adventure starts with Sir Francis Drake on the seas, then on to Africa with David Livingstone.  The other adventurers included are John Smith, Christopher Columbus, Daniel Boone, Sir John Franklin, HernĂ¡n Cortez, John Paul Jones, Hernando De Soto, and Guiseppe Garibaldi.

These stories bring history to life for my fourteen year old.  He loves the maps that are included that can be followed to trace the adventurer's journeys.  This book is also illustrated to help bring the stories to life even more.

Amy Puetz has also edited a book about women called Ten Girls From History.  The stories included are about Louisa May Alcott, Clara Barton, Molly Pitcher, Cofachiqui, Madeleine De Vercheres, Dorothy Quincy, Ida Lewis, Elizabeth Van Lew, Virginia Reed, and Clara Morris.

Amy has a special running this week-  These books retail for $25 each but for five days only (May 2 to May 6) they are available at the sale price of $15 each! That's $10 OFF each book!  There are only a limited number of books available. When they're gone they're gone. If you would like to buy the ebooks versions of these books they are 40% off too!
