Our Garden 2011

Our whole family worked together to plant our garden a few weeks ago.  We found a volunteer lettuce from last year.  A week later it mysteriously disappeared.

My husband tilled the dirt for us and my oldest son used a loop to help and make the mounds for the rows.

Then we put down weed cover to keep the weeds at bay. I really hate weeding the garden!

I was so glad when we finished and couldn't wait until we could harvest fresh veggies!

Then when I went outside yesterday, I discovered Hunter had pulled up every single plant that was growing!

I am so depressed! I have to start all over. I was really mad at Hunter at first, but then I realized he was probably just trying to help. After all I told him we were going to eat the things growing there. Maybe he was picking the "food" for me?

I guess I'm going to give it another shot and plant a few more things. Wish me luck!

Oh no!!.. I'm so sorry to hear of this set-back. How disappointing, I'm sure... But don't give up. The season is still young! (at least HERE, it certainly IS!).. Chin up, and "try, try again"!.. Have a great weekend! ~tina

My father in law told me that when he was little, he and his twin brother picked every singe buttercup in his mothers flowerbed and brought them to her in the wheelbarrow. Just the tops of the flowers, she was devastated, but he said she tried to hide it. Hope the second go round fairs better. He probably thought he was weeding for ya.

Bless his heart. Maybe he thought they were weeds. Let him help plant and water some, his own little garden.
