Giveaway- The Sixty Minute Shakespeare: Macbeth

The Sixty Minute Shakespeare by Cass Foster is a series of Shakespeare classics. These books are short versions of the original plays and still include Shakespeare's poetic language.  The author includes footnotes on many pages to explain the meaning of certain words that are not used in today's world.  This helped me to read through without getting confused like I did in high school, thus making it more enjoyable.

Price: Entire Series: $45.89; individually: $8.99

The books in this series include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, and Twelfth Night.  These books are great for the reader who doesn't have time to read the plays as a whole, or if you just want an introduction to Shakespeare.  Each book is only around 70 pages, so it's easy to digest.

Foster has included practical tips for staging, scenery, and pacing.  This makes it possible to perform the plays at home.  I think The Sixty Minute Shakespeare series is going to be a great way to introduce my 9th grader to some of Shakespeare's finest works.  He is already enjoying the intrigue of Macbeth.
