Faithful Friday- The Story Behind Wednesday's Picture

I promised I would tell you about the picture I posted for Wordless Wednesday.  Obviously, it's an older mobile home and was just recently moved onto Barb's land beside of us.  Barb has been going to church with us for awhile.  I love my church family so much.  Actually at least 3/4 of them I'm related to somehow, lol!  And the rest of them are really nice people too.

Well, one of my cousins had an aunt who had been in an assisted care center for years.  She still had a mobile home full of all her belongings that she would never be able to move back to.  So, my cousin asked her what she planned on doing with it and he told her about Barb and her boys living with us and not having a home of their own.  She called him back and she told him she wanted to give the mobile home to Barb.  This was definitely God working because others had tried to buy the home from her a while back and she wouldn't sell.

Since it was full of the older lady's stuff, Barb and I spent a few weeks going through it. We boxed some of it up for her, and got other things ready for a yard sale.  It took a lot of time to go through everything, but we finally finished.  We had the yard sale and made around $300 for the lady.  Now, I hope y'all understand why I haven't been blogging as much as usual.

Our next problem was that the mobile home was on a lot with tons of pine trees.  It took patience and lots of maneuvering to get it out of those trees.  Some of the men from our church used a tractor to turn it to where the mover could get it out.  Then, another one of my cousins told his friend about us not having the money to move it, and he offered to do it for free!  God has had a hand in this every step of the way!

So, her home is here on her land now!  It's kind of just the beginning, though.  A lot of the floors need replacing and some of the cabinets are falling apart and will have to be replaced also.  The walls are for the most part in great shape, especially for it being as old a home as it is.  She also needs a water tap and a septic tank, so it will be a while before Barb and her boys can move in, but it's a wonderful start!

I am so thankful for all those who have helped us in any way and all those who will be helping!  We appreciate it so much!  Special thanks to all my bloggy friends for your prayers!  Barb has hope again and that means so much!

Sunday's Song- I'll Fly Away

Barb and I sang this song for our church's Ladies in the Pulpit Sunday a few weeks ago.  I know my voice is bad, so please forgive me, I was trying to make a joyful noise.  I talked Barb into helping me sing,  but I think we sounded better in practice than in church, lol!  Plus the music was a little loud, not sure if that was a good or bad thing?  Thanks go out to my son Mitchell for taping us.

When Good Dogs Go Bad

Some of you may remember my son's dog Little Ann.  She is a sweet little dog.  She lives outside and has co-existed happily with our chickens for 3 years.  Well, she did live happily with them.  A couple weeks ago we found one of our Brahma hens hurt.  At first we thought a hawk might have tried to grab it, so we looked around for feathers to try and see where it happened.

We found a pile of feathers beside Little Ann.  I thought maybe it was just a fluke, she'd never harmed any chickens before, so we put the hurt hen in isolation and gave Little Ann a second chance.  A few days later we found another hen dead.  Strangely enough it was the other Brahma hen we had.  Apparently Little Ann didn't like Brahmas.  You know what they say about dogs getting a taste for blood and wanting more.  I guess it's true.

We knew what we had to do, but it hurt all of us to let Little Ann go.  But, even my son knew it was for the best.  We still have one outside dog that is Little Ann's son, but he's in a kennel type thing.  We would have put Little Ann in there, but she can climb any fence, so it wouldn't have helped.  I just don't understand why she flipped on us?

I hope she has a good life at her new place!

Wonky

Well, me and Barb have gotten a lot of work done with what she still hasn't told y'all about. I'm gonna have to twist her arm to make her to tell you, or tell you myself!

What you saw if you visited this week

Anyway, I was gonna post a few days ago, but my blog was looking all kinds of wonky!  Apparently I had some of my images from my blog saved at Photobucket. In case you didn't know, their service was down for around 3 or 4 days for a small percentage of people, of course I was one of them! So if you visited my blog it really looked quite funny! And I do apologize! I have went and saved everything in another place. So, hopefully that won't happen again!

Giveaway- Boysterous Boys

My kids always get excited when we get surprises in the mail.  The most recent was a package for Hunter from Manhattan Toy.

We received 2 Boysterous Action Figures and a Boysterous Extreme Sports Zone.  The Boysterous Boys we received are Slope Shreddin Sean, who comes with his own snowboard and Goalie Gavin who has a soccer ball.  The Extreme Sports Zone is a 3-in-1 play environment that can be used as a football, hockey, or soccer field, and also a half pipe for skateboarding or snowboarding.  There are 3 other action figures you can buy.  There is Halfpipe Pete who is a skateboarder, Slapshot Sam who is a hockey player, and Touchdown Dylan who is a football player.

The Boysterous Boys are around 8 inches tall, plush, and bendable, so you can pose them with their equipment, however you like.  Another great thing is that their feet and hands are magnets and the Extreme Sports Zone is also magnetic.  That way the figures stay where you put them.  These action figures seem very well made, so I think they will last the test of time and my 3 year old, lol!

Hunter really loved the Extreme Sports Zone and had no problem changing it from one side to the other by unzipping, and re-zipping it.  He also figured out that it turns into a storage tote for his action figures.  He especially loved having Slope Shreddin Sean go up and down the half pipe. He's enjoyed all of these Boysterous toys.  I like that they are fun for him, and aren't violent like a lot of the action figures out there.  I love that when you zip it and velcro it, it keeps the toys all in one place.

These toys are for ages 3-8.  The Boysterous Boys action figures sell for $18 and the Boysterous Extreme Sports Zone is $30.

Do you know someone who would love their own Boysterous Action Figure?  Manhattan Toy is giving one of my readers a Boysterous Action Figure.  To enter do any or all of the following:

Leave a separate comment for each entry.  Giveaway is open to US residents only. Giveaway will close Monday night April 25th at midnight. Good luck!

I received Boysterous Boys products from Manhattan Toy in association with MamaBzz in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are my own.
