Happy Valentines Day to you too!! So sorry about your animals getting killed, it is hard to see one die naturally, let alone be attacked by something. We had a first timer mom lose a calf this week. She just couldn't push out the hips and we didn't find her until she had been trying to push for half a day. Needless to say, it was already dead. So the hubs helped her birth a dead calf. It is sad, but a part of raising animals, and not the buddies first time with it (thank goodness). They did remarkably well, we had a bad experience with them and a calf last year. Hope you catch the culprit soon. Can you put a roof of some sort over the top of the pens? That is what the hubs cousins do that raise and sell eggs.
Shannon, I'm sorry about your calf. That would probably make me sad too, I really love cows!
I am trying to learn to not be so attached to my animals. We've only had them about a year, but I really love them. My chickens are cooped up at night. I would like the guineas to go in there too, but I can't get them to do it.
