Chilly Weather And Hot Chocolate
Yesterday it was raining...again and really chilly outside. And inside too, since I'm trying to save on the power bill. It's times like these I really want a snuggie or a slanket. I think they would be really great for sitting in the recliner with my laptop.
Anyway, my older son asked when we were going to make some hot chocolate again. I usually make it during the winter to help keep us warm. So, I got out the ingredients and started making it. I thought I would share the recipe with y'all, in case you would like to make some too.
Hot Chocolate
4 cups dry milk powder
1 3/4 cups sugar (or less, we like it sweet)
1 cup coffee creamer
2/3 cup cocoa
1 box chocolate pudding mix
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and pour in a container for use later. I use a rubbermaid container.
We use 1/4 to 1/3 cup of mix to a glass of water.

I love homemade cocoa! I love that you add pudding, I am going to put some in mine next time I make it. That will be soon as we go through it so fast in the winter. Happy Thanksgiving!
I have never heard ( or read ) of using pudding in the cocoa. Sounds like you are snuggled down for the winter..how cold does it get at your place?
Kathy, it doesn't usually get that cold here. The coldest is usually in the teens. This weekend was the 40's and that felt really cold to me, lol!
that sounds so yummy! i'm going to write this down - we love hot chocolate but i can never seem to find a good recipe. thanks! and happy thankgsiving

I haven't used pudding in my hot chocolate before but it sounds good. Thanks for sharing. We will have to try it out next time.
sounds great! i'm going to have to pick up some milk powder and try making a batch of this!
Mmmmm, sounds delicious. I was recently at a church fall festival and they had hot cocoa. It was getting late and the temperature was beginning to drop. That cocoa was so good!
That recipe looks awesome! Might have to make it this weekend for our first freeze!
