We're Going Places

I know y'all have probably heard me mention that my van broke down a couple months ago.  My husband tried and tried to fix it, but there was always something else wrong with it.  He finally gave up because we didn't have the money to fix one thing after another.

It was around that time my husband asked my cousin what he was doing with a car that he owned that was broken down and they weren't using.  My cousin told him we could have the car since they had a van now.  The car is actually newer than my van or my hubby's truck.

So, for the past few months, my husband has been doing a little at a time to try and fix the Neon.  He has replaced the water pump, timing belt, and all the other belts.  We spent around $200 altogether, and last Friday we were finally able to put it on the road.  We still have a few minor things to fix, but we can drive it now!

It is so awesome to be able to go somewhere as a family again.  My husband's truck only seats 3, so we couldn't really go anywhere together.  I am so thankful that the Lord helped my husband to fix the car!  He is so good to us!

It was no "accident" your husband thought to ask about that car, God had already set it aside for you!

So glad you have wheels again. Its frustrating not getting to go when you want to but you did the right thing by waiting for God's lead. God is Good!!

That is awesome! We have only had 1 vehicle for a while as well, but fortunately there is enough seating that we can all go places together when my husband isn't at work. Hopefully we'll have a 2nd vehicle soon so the kids and I can go places even if my husband isn't home ;-)

Enjoy your new set of wheels! :-)

Woohoo!!!!! It is hard with only one vehicle, I know what you mean. For a long while, the hubs hasn't had his extended cab truck, and the other ones all only seat 3. This made it extremely difficult if I needed to go somewhere in my vehicle and he was at home with all 4 kids. So glad y'all are back on the road, :)

Oh I know the frustrations of maintaining a vehicle! I don't know ANYBODY who fixes cars.. had some run ins with crooked mechanics, and it just got to the point where I said I'd rather WALK! I admit I live in an area, however, where I can get away with that though!.. In the meantime, I'm so glad you have a good family vehicle on the road again! May God go with you and protect you on many safe and wonderful journeys! ~tina

So glad to hear you are all gong to be doing trips together. I know what it feels like. When our van broke on the highway and it was stay home or taxi it I was miserable. Then when he bought a two seater truck, I was bummed. Today we have a very run down car but it runs and we can all go places. I really wish for our van back but until we can fix it up she's out of the picture. Your car looks great by the way.

Wow--makes you really appreciate transportation. We have had some lemons when it comes to cars. One car we had had a hole in the gas tank!

Sure is nice having a hubby that fixes things isn't it? My hubby does everything around here and I don't what we would if we had to pay for all the repairs on our vehicles. What a blessing!!

NICE CAR TOO!!!!!!!! I would be proud to ride around in that and it will drive better than most cause it's paid for!!!!!!

Good job!!

This is great news for your family Nancy. Sometimes it's better to give up fixing our old bombs isn't it? We're in the process of selling our car so we can upgrade slightly just before it starts costing us more than it's worth!

God is great!
