A few of you asked about my picture from this week's Wordless Wednesday post.  The picture above is the real picture, I just cropped it for that post.  The hole Mitchell is in is on a road that runs around the outside edge of our land.   We have had so much rain that it has washed this area out really bad.

The picture above shows how our driveway has washed out also.  The holes aren't as deep, but are still too rough for a car to go through.  We have to pull over and drive in the yard some since it's so deep.

Every time it rains, we have to walk down the driveway and pick up things that are brought up like glass, nails, and some other weird things.  I have even found very small bottles that weren't broken at all.  It's interesting to see what we'll find each time.  I just wish the rain would stop for awhile so we could have a break!

Oh wow, that's cool finding treasures in your driveway. Think of what you could find if you dug all over. I thought your driveway looked sandy, then I see that you are from SC. Aha! That's why:) Get yourself a metal detector, maybe you could find some old civil war treasures. Thanks for sharing with us Nancy. Hugs~Carol

I had wondered where he was standing. Sand washing away can be a real pain.

I love the idea of the metal detector. One of my colleagues looks for metal buttons from the turn of the century and has some interesting finds. We've finally gotten some sunshine here!

I'm perplexed at all the dramatic weather we've had everywhere in the world, hope everything is better soon for your home and driveway.

I agree with you about the rain. I wish Mother Nature would hold on to some of it and give it to us in July when we really need it.
Because of the rain, my driveway has developed holes that sometimes I swear the front end of my truck disappears when I drive through. tee hee

I so wish it would dry up! Our driveway too is washing away from all the snow. I've about had it with winter:)

That's neat that you get surprises but I bet you wonder about them sometimes. Dangerous road there. Glad to hear ya'll haven't got stuck in it before. I too wish the bad weather would end and Spring would finally begin.

I can imagine that would get frustrating having to clean up after each rain and having the roads and your driveway wash out. It just gets really muddy and soggy here :-/

Oh, wow, that's a lot of rain!

That's fun that the rain digs up little gifts for you. My husband's grandfather lived on a piece of land that was farmed for over 100 years. There was actually a spot where they buried trash back when it was still OK to do that. We used to out there and dig up antique bottles. It was really cool.
