Sunday's Song- Farther Along

I first heard this song on a Brad Paisley album.  It really gives me hope that one day we will all understand the trials we sometimes go through here on Earth.

Farther Along

Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long
While there are others living about us
Never molested though in the wrong

Chorus
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by

When death has come and taken our loved ones
It leaves our home so lonely and drear
And then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year

Chorus
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by

When we see Jesus coming in glory
When he comes down from his home in the sky
Then we shall meet him in that bright mansion
We'll understand it all by and by

Chorus
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by

Yeah we'll understand it all by and by

Your Sunday songs are so inspiring, I'm reading just before we leave for church so I'm hoping for some good songs today. Tom and I are ushers this month so it will be a busy time at church for the next month. Love the story about the cemetry on your property.

I do love that song. We sing out of the Heavenly Highway book sometimes and that one is in there.

Hope you had a awesome day of worship!

We used to sing that all the time at a church I went to. Sometimes they would have people give testimonies between the chorus and verse. It was awesome!

I remember this song from childhood. In the summer we would have "all day singing and dinner on the grounds". Thanks for sharing this!

One of my favorite old songs. It always helps me remember-I'm not the first person who didn't understand why bad things happen to good people-and I won't be the last one either. Great choice-but you always choice ones I love : )
