I really hate it when I can't find a lid for something and have to try and use plastic wrap on it. I say try, because I usually end up wasting so much trying to get it off the roll and then I have a hard time getting it to stay on. Then a few weeks ago, I received a new product to try called CoverMates.
CoverMate was designed as an alternative to foil and plastic wraps. They use Flexband technology that allows you to cover, uncover, and recover dishes in seconds. CoverMates are made from a food grade polyethylene film and contain no BPA or PVC.
The box I received had 1 small can cover, 4 medium covers, 4 large covers, and 2 extra large covers. The small cover was good for covering a glass or a can of chips. The medium ones were good for lots of my Rubbermaid containers. Since they have elastic in them, they are good for all different shapes. I tried them on round, oval and rectangular containers and they did well. We take things to reunion or parties and usually have to use foil on large platters. I think the larger covers would work well for that. Plus, you can see through the CoverMate covers!
Another thing I like about them, is they have small slits on the corners, so you can use them in the microwave. We end up using way too many paper towels to keep things from being dry, so I am glad I can cut down on that waste. You can also wash them in the dishwasher on the top rack. CoverMates can be stored in the resealable baggie they come in.
You can get a sample pack of CoverMates on their site for the price of shipping and handling which is only $3.95.

Hope the tooth is better.
I really would like some of these. I thought they had something similar a few years ago, and when I looked for them just last week, I didn't see them. These come in so handy for covering the odd size bowl.
