Invasion

We are being invaded!

They are on the walls.

 On the ceiling.

On the ceiling fan light pull.

On the porch railing.

On the shutters.

I think they are getting in the house through the screen in the windows, maybe?  Seems to happen every year around this time.  I'm still trying to convince Hunter that ladybugs are nice and not yucky like other bugs.  So far, he's not buying it.  Maybe I should call it something other than a lady-bug?  Any suggestions?

I learned the hard way, that these bugs have a bad odor if you "squish" one and they also stain carpet etc. Hope they go away for the winter soon! Ya'll have a great weekend.

I have seen a few this week myself. Don't know how they get in. Always try to take them back outside. What about calling them scooters.

Howdy Nancy
Many many years ago when my son was young and we were a happy homeschooling family .
My son took to the annual invasion as an announcement that Thanksgiving is coming (thats why they have on their orange fall coats ) Kids are oh so wise !
So to this day I think of Pilgrims,Indians and all things that are a part of Thaksgiving when I see them.
Thank you Nancy for a reminder of all the blessings we recieved from homeschooling.
Blessings of joy to you and yours

Until next time

I've always thought they were cute -- but I'm not sure I'd think that if they were all over the house. I've also heard that they are good luck.

Oh boy, we had them last year. I love 'em. It's bad luck to kill them and you should scoop them up and put them back out.

When we lived in Missouri we got them every year, they came in through the ceiling fan somehow. I'll never forget when we got a whole bunch at once come out. BabyGirl flipped out, she may love them but that many looked scary.

Hello Nancy

I have also heard they will bring you luck so do not kill them! My mom gets them in her home once in a blue moon and she let's them be.

Take-Care!

Best
Tracy :)

Actually only the red ones are ladybugs. The orange ones were brought to the US by the USDA to eat other bugs. They do bite.

My parents had lady bug invasions for a couple of years but they seem to have stopped. Guess they found their way to your place. You could always call them Super Hero bugs. Or tiny dinosaurs. Either one would make my boys like them. =)

It is always exciting here when the ladybugs start coming in! We feed them bits of apple and apricot jelly. We keep a few in our bug catcher.
