Alice

I had heard about Alice from Money Saving Mom, but had never tried it, until I was able to get a $5 gift card from Swagbucks for cashing in only 12 of my swagbucks.

I case you haven't heard about Alice, it's a website where you can buy all types of household products and shipping is always free.  They have a 6 item minimum order, except on your first order.  Your first order can only be one item, if you want.  Alice also has clip-free coupons that you can use to bring the prices down on some items.  There is a small catch, you can only use one coupon on one like item.  So, if you wanted to use a coupon on 2 same brand shampoos, you would have to pick a different scent, for it to be counted as different.

This is the order I received after using my $5 gift card.  I was able to purchase all this for only $4.80 after coupons.  The total before coupons was $7.96.  I think that was a really good deal since I bought 5 things essentially for free because I traded in my swagbucks, plus it was delivered right to my door by UPS.

Here are some of the deals they have today at Alice: Clairol Hair Color $0.90, Good Start Infant Formula for $2.02, Lipton Tea $0.59, and Brut deodorant $1.27.  The way to find the best deals is to click on Other Ways to Shop, and then Shop the Best Deals.  That will bring up the top 50 deals.

For today only Alice is offering their gift cards for up to 30% off.  That makes Alice an even better deal!  If you haven't tried Alice yet, you can sign up here.  If you have already used their service, what's the best buy you've gotten?

Giveaway - Pillsbury Simply Prize Pack

I was given the chance by My Blog Spark to try the new Simply cookies by Pillsbury. The great thing about these cookies is I didn't have to mix anything. All I had to do was put them in the pan and bake them. My family loved them! The cookies were nice and chewy. They were so good they were gone within a few minutes.

What's wonderful about them is they have no trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. What they do have in them is flour, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. They also come in two great flavors. The kind we tried was chocolate chip, but they also come in peanut butter.

Would you like to try them too? My Blog Spark is letting me give away a Pillsbury Simply Prize Pack which includes a coupon for a free pack of Simply cookies, a cookie jar, and a grocery tote bag. You can also print a coupon for Simply cookies here.

Coupons at Walmart

Last week I went to Walmart just to do a little shopping. When I tried to give the cashier my coupons, she wouldn't take the internet printable coupons. I asked why, and she said it was a policy they started around the end of last year. I explained I had been there since then and used them with no problem. So, I asked her to check and make sure. She spoke with customer service and they said the same thing. So, I asked her to take the items I was going to buy with the coupons off my order, and she did.

Now, I know others have had problems using internet coupons, but this was a first for me. I have read on Freebies 4 Mom and other places about this. They recommend bringing a copy of Walmart's coupon policy to the store with you. Since I did not have this with me, I did not try to force the issue.

However, when I got home, I e-mailed Walmart directly and inquired of their policy, just to be sure. You can imagine my surprise when just a few days later, I received a call from Walmart. I spoke with the manager of the store and she apologized for them not taking my coupons. She also gave me her name and the other manager's name as well, in case I have any problems in the future. I was assured the staff would be reminded of the correct policy as well. I was very happy with the way they addressed my problem.

To avoid this problem, you may want to print their coupon policy here, and take it with you when you go.
